How To Become a Board Member The Board of Trustees is the governing body for the Little Rocky Run Homeowners Association. It oversees all aspects of managing the community with the assistance of other volunteer committees and the association staff. Commitment and Eligibility nMembers in good standing with the Association are eligible candidates n2 year term commitment n1 meeting per month nReview materials prepared by staff prior to meetings Preparation - How to prepare for becoming a Trustee We recommend that volunteers interested in joining the BOT attend committee meetings such as the Architectural Review Board or Budget and Finance Committee, or join a committee for a period of time. This will help you familiarize yourself with the association and its business practices. Finally, we strongly encourage you to attend Board of Trustees meetings prior to running for a position on the BOT. Although we strongly encourage participating as a community or committee volunteer, this is not a requirement to run for a position on the Board.
Prepared and ready to commit? To become a candidate, complete a Trustee Candidate Packet* and mail, submit by email or hand-deliver to the HOA office at 6201 Sandstone Way, Clifton, Virginia 20124. Trustee candidate applications will be accepted December 10, 2007 - January 18, 2008. The packet consists of a petition to be signed by
ten of your neighbors, a biographical sketch to tell us a little about yourself
and four essay questions. The essay questions or "Viewpoints of the Candidate"
is a way for you to express why you want to be a Board member and how you will
perform your duties as a Trustee. . |
