Challenges Facing the HOA

For those unable to attend the HOA
Annual Meeting on March 7, my State of the HOA talk included a
discussion of six major challenges facing the HOA in the very
near future (which may have already arrived). I repeat those
challenges here.
1. VOLUNTEERISM / APATHY
Volunteers are the lifeblood of
the HOA. Without volunteers, the BOT and committees will be
unable to function. HOA staff needs resident volunteers to do
its work as well. There have been recent additions to the ARB
and Neighborhood Watch Committees, but Budget and Finance
Committee needs interested residents to keep track of HOA
assessment revenue and expenditures. Your money is at stake
here! Our Budget and Finance Committee is dedicated and
long-serving and the community is grateful for their service.
Without sufficient volunteers, the day
may come when we will have to hire employees to do essential
jobs now done by volunteers. These costs would increase your
assessments dramatically.

INTRODUCING! THE NEWLY ENERGIZED AND REVITALIZED
LITTLE ROCKY RUN NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH!
The Neighborhood Watch Trainings held on January 24 and April 24 were a huge
success, but, we need more members! Two volunteer leaders
emerged from the event, a single family home coordinator and a
town house coordinator. Both leaders will be organized
mobile patrols in Little Rocky Run. To participate in the
neighborhood watch you must complete the training. To
learn more about Neighborhood Watch and to get on the invitation
list for the next training, please email

difference!
A LITTLE LIGHT CAN GO A LONG WAY!
Join the Little Rocky Run "Let Your Light Shine Campaign".
 There are no enrollment forms and
no meetings to attend to participate in this community
wide campaign. To join the effort simply turn on your
front and back porch lights from dusk to dawn, every
night. This can become a daily routine or it can be
accomplished by installing a timer. Timers can make your
participation virtually effortless.
So, let your light shine! This small gesture will
illuminate your block and become a deterrent for criminals
and other unwanted nighttime activity. The cost to
each household is less than $25 per year! Tell your
neighbors and join the campaign!
