Little Rocky Run homeowner association A) USE OF FACILITIES 1) Little Rocky Run pools are community facilities. Pool Rules and Regulations are intended to provide maximum benefit to Association members while maintaining a safe and wholesome environment for the community. All Little Rocky Run Members in Good Standing are entitled to use the pool facilities upon presentation of a valid pool pass. A valid pool pass must be presented at the entrance each time a member accesses the pool or facility; use of the pool facilities is restricted to those with valid Little Rocky Run Homeowner Association pool passes and their guests. Swimming pool passes are issued or updated annually. Little Rocky Run residents who are current in their assessment payments and own or have a valid lease are eligible for pool passes. Registration for pool passes begins in April of each year and may be completed by mail or in person at the Homeowners Association (HOA) office located at 6201 Sandstone Way, Clifton, Virginia 20124 (703-830-0411) during scheduled in person registration events as published in the Little Rocky Run newsletter each year. Daily Guest passes, Extended Guest passes, and Childcare Provider passes are available. Guests are not considered members of the Association; only members may have guests. The number of guest allowed per member at any one time may be limited for crowd control or safety reasons. Members under the age of 18 will be limited to two guests at a time. Requisite fees must be paid and authorized passes obtained before entry will be allowed into facilities, except that grandparents of members may accompany their grandchildren with valid pool passes at no charge. Daily Guest passes may be purchased at any Little Rocky Run pool
location or at the HOA office for $4.00 each, except that for the last hour of
facility operation the fee is $1.00, per day. Books of 10 or 20 Daily guest
passes are available for purchase at the HOA office. All Daily Guests must be
accompanied by a member with a valid pool pass. Guests age 13 and under must
be accompanied by a member at least 14 years of age. Childcare Provider passes (including for Au Pairs & live-in nannies) must be applied for and purchased from the HOA office. A Childcare Provider pass may be purchased for $150 and is valid for the Pool season. One Childcare Provider pass is allowed per family. A Childcare Provider pass is transferable if there is a substantiated change in the provider. Childcare Providers may use the pool facilities unaccompanied by an Association member. 2) All persons using the pool do so at their own risk and expense. All persons using the pool agree to abide by the rules for use of the facility. The Little Rocky Run Homeowners Association assumes no responsibility for any accident or injury in connection with such use or for any loss or damage to personal property. Residents (owners and tenants) are responsible for the actions of their children and guests. 3) Members must be at least 11 years old to attend the pool unsupervised. Children age 7 to 11 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible person age 13 years or older. Children age 6 and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult 18 years of age or older. All members under the age or 18 may be required to sign in at the front desk and to provide an emergency contact number. 4) Children using the baby / wading pool are the responsibility of the parent or guardian and must be accompanied by a caregiver age 18 and over at all times. Children age 6 and over are not permitted within the baby pool enclosure. 5) The Board of Trustees has delegated to the Pool Management Company the responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance of order, safety and cleanliness in and around the pool area; for supervising the pool operating staff; and for temporary and immediate enforcement of the Rules, Regulations and fees established by the Board of Trustees. The Pool Management Company and staff are responsible for interpreting the Pool Rules and Regulations and for making on-site decisions. Their on-site interpretations or decisions must be obeyed by all patrons, and their instruction must be followed without hesitation. Any disagreement with the pool operator’s decisions may be presented to the Community Manager or designated staff person at the Homeowners Association Office. The Community Manager may also forward specific matters to the Board of Trustees for information, review, consideration, and action if necessary. 6) The Pool Management Company and its designees have the authority to require anyone to immediately and temporarily leave the pool facility for infractions of the rules, inappropriate behavior, or when safety is threatened. The Pool Management Company and its designees may temporarily suspend pool use for anyone for up to three (3) days for a violation. If the pool facility management deems it necessary to suspend swimming privileges for more than three days they will provide an Incident Report to the HOA Community Manager or designated HOA staff representative, typically within 24 hours of the incident. The HOA Community Manager may suspend facility access and swimming privileges for up to one (1) week based on the Pool Management Incident Report. Any recommendation for suspensions in excess of seven (7) days must be reviewed and approved by the Board of Trustees. 7) The pool may be closed at the discretion of the Pool Manager on duty in case of lightning, rain, cloudy overcast weather, operational breakdown or contamination, or other conditions, which, in the opinion of the Pool Manager, present a danger to the health and safety of pool patrons. The pool will generally remain closed for at least thirty (30) minutes after audible thunder or sixty (60) minutes after the last occurrence of visual lightening. 8) No person shall use the pool facilities unless the pool is officially open and lifeguards are on duty. Unauthorized persons found inside the pool area when the pool is closed may lose their privileges for the remainder of the summer and risk prosecution for trespassing. B) HEALTH & SAFETY 1) Persons who have obvious infections (colds, lesions, open sores, etc.)
will not be allowed in the pool. Sanitary habits are the responsibility of
everyone and anyone displaying improper behavior will be asked to leave the pool
area. 3) Intoxicants are not allowed in the pool area. Anyone who appears intoxicated under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry or will be asked to leave the pool facility. 4) Smoking or the use of any tobacco product is not permitted within the confines of the fenced pool area, including the restrooms, or within 50 feet of the pool house and entrance to the pool area. 5) No large play equipment, playpens, wheeled vehicles, etc. (except wheel chairs and strollers) are permitted in the pool area. 6) Breakable objects including glassware are not permitted in the pool area. 7) For safety purposes, there will be a fifteen (15) minute rest period each hour, starting on the hour for members under the age of 18. During the rest period, children under the age of 18 must leave the pool and remain completely out of the water. 8) Steps and ladders into the main pool are to be used for ingress and egress purposes only and shall be kept clear at all times. Sitting or playing on the steps or the ladders is not permitted. 9) Swimmers who wish to use the diving board or diving well area and are
under the age of 11 must pass a swim test administered by the Pool Management
Company. Swim tests will be conducted during the hourly rest period upon
request. Swimmers who pass the test will be issued a wrist band for the season.
The wrist band should be worn each time the swimmer attends the pool. Any
persons who demonstrate an inability to swim to the lifeguard on duty will not
be permitted in the diving well deep end of the pool. 12) Use of dive rings, Nerf balls, small soft or inflatable balls, or other "tossed toys" may only be permitted at the discretion of the Pool Management staff on duty and only during uncrowded conditions and only when there use does not reasonably adversely affect the enjoyment of the pool for other members and guests. Tossing objects to or from an individual entering the pool from the deck area or to or from the diving board is prohibited. 13) Inflatable boats and rafts are prohibited except as may be allowed during "Raft Nights" and "Dive-in Movie Nights". Oversized inflation devices that accommodate more than two riders are prohibited. Pool Management staff may prohibit the use of any flotation device at any time in the interest of safety. 14) Sound producing toys or other electronic devices with speakers, when used with headphones or with the sound volume off, are permitted in the pool area. 15) All refuse must be placed in containers provided for this purpose. Keeping the pool area clean is everyone’s responsibility. 16) All injuries that occur on the premises must be reported immediately to
on duty Pool Management staff. C) RULES OF CONDUCT 1) Swimmers must wear proper and appropriate bathing attire. No thong style swimsuits, cut-offs, jeans or other inappropriate attire will be permitted. Anyone wearing street shoes must remain outside the pool perimeter line. 2) Persons must stay clear of the guard stations at all times. 3) Use of rollerblades, inline skates, skateboards, scooters, wheelies,
healies, etc. is not permitted within the pool area. Bikes and mopeds must be
parked in designated areas outside the pool area and not along the pool fence. 5) "Squirt" guns, water guns, or water cannons of all types are prohibited in the pool area. 6) Abusive, offensive, or profane language is prohibited. 7) Inappropriate physical contact and exchanges are prohibited. 8) Diving is permitted in the diving well area of the pool. Only one person is permitted on the diving board at a time. Divers may not use the diving board until the previous diver has reached the ladder. Divers may only progress in a forward direction toward the center of the pool while on the diving board. Dives which propel the diver toward the diving board (such as inwards, cutaways, gainers etc.) are prohibited. No one (including parents, guardians, or instructors) is permitted in the diving area to "catch" or "assist" others going off the diving board. No diving is permitted outside of the deep end diving well area, except during authorized competitive events. 9) General swimming in a diving well area is prohibited while the diving board is in use. However on duty Pool Management staff may close the diving board to allow the deep end diving well area of the pool to be used by members and guests for authorized and permitted activities or group games. 10) When open, Lap lanes are to be kept available and clear for lap swimming. 11) Pool furniture is prohibited in the pools. Pool Management staff may request furniture be moved further from the pool if it impedes line of vision or pedestrian traffic around the pool. 12) No pets, except for qualified service animals for the disabled, are
permitted in the pool area. Domestic canines are allowed only during the end of
the year "Doggie Swim". 1) No eating is permitted on the pool deck. Food may only be consumed in the designated eating area or outside of the pool deck. 2) Only water in plastic or unbreakable containers is permitted outside of the designated eating area. 3) Tables and chairs in the designated eating area may not be reserved by placing towels and/or personal belongings on them. Pool patrons must clear their food, trash, and personal belongings promptly so that the tables are available to other patrons. The eating areas are not intended for private pool parties. 4) Breakable objects (glass, brittle plastics, etc.) are not permitted in the pool area; coolers may be inspected. 5) Alcoholic libations will not be permitted in the pool area during normal
hours of operation. 1) The baby / wading pool is an unguarded facility. 2) Use of the baby / wading pool is restricted to children 5 years of age or younger and their parents or guardians of not less than 18 years of age. 3) Play toys used in the baby / wading pool are limited to small, floating, unbreakable items. F) GENERAL 1) All lost articles turned over to the Pool Management staff will be kept for 15 days for reclamation and possible retrieval by the person losing the article. All unclaimed articles will be disposed of at the discretion of the Pool Manager. 2) Members are responsible, and will be charged for the cost of any property
damage caused by the Member or their guest. 4) Individuals vandalizing and/or trespassing at pool facilities will be prosecuted. Further, the individuals will be immediately barred from the pool facilities indefinitely pending a Board of Trustees review and reinstatement of privileges.
