We are happy to bring back the LRR Tennis Ladder! If you don’t have the time to play for a league team, but, would still like to participate in competitive play... the tennis ladder is for you!  Trophies will be awarded at the end of the ladder season in 5 categories: men’s singles, women’s singles, women’s doubles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles. The ladder season will run from April through mid-October.  Awards and prizes will be distributed at the October 2008 Tennis Social.
 

1. The goal is to be at the top of the ladder by the end of the season.

2. Your beginning position will be assigned randomly.

3. To get to the top of the ladder, contact players who are listed 1 to 2 steps above you. You have to climb the ladder! If you are player number 12 you cannot challenge player number 2.

4. Each player/team is allowed 3 days to answer a challenge. If the challenge is not answered, the player being challenged will forfeit his/her higher place on the ladder and be sent to the bottom.

5. The winner of the challenge match takes the higher place on the ladder. The loser of the challenge match takes or stays in the challenger’s spot.

6. Matches are the played with traditional scoring, the best 2 out of 3 sets wins.

7. Each player or team should bring a new can of balls for the challenge match. The winner of the match receives the un-opened can at the end of the match.

8. Call or email the results to the office so the ladder can be updated. Updates are posted to our website and will also be posted in the bulletin boards at the tennis courts between 4:30-5:00pm each Monday.
