Townhomes – Tuesday & Friday
Single Family – Monday & Thursday

Trash collection guidelines
nAll refuse should be placed curbside no later than 6am on the scheduled pick-up day and no earlier than 6pm the evening before the scheduled pick-up day.

nTrash includes non-recyclable materials such as kitchen waste, disposable diapers, etc.

Large Items

American Disposal Service at 703-368- 0500 to arrange a special pick-up of large items

Large items are usually picked up on the 2nd collection day for the week.  You must call 48 hours in advance to schedule a large item pick up. 
If you are not sure if your large or bulk item qualifies for pick up, please call American Disposal.  American Disposal will pick up some large items at no additional charge, such items include, but not limited to:

nBoxes
nMattresses
nFurniture
nCarpet & padding

American Disposal charges a nominal removal fee for some large items such as appliances.  Charges range from $15-$70 depending on the item. Please call American Disposal for specific charges and restrictions.

Recycled Materials
Recycling collection days are as follows:
Townhomes – Tuesday
Single Family – Thursday

Fairfax County Guidelines - Recycle Right!

Recyclable materials should be placed next to trash on collection days, but, in a separate container, such as  a recycle bin.  Recyclable materials include:

What is yard debris?

nBrush - must be cut into 4ft. lengths, bundled and tied to be picked up.

ebris must be placed in plastic bags, heavy duty paper bags found at hardware stores, trash cans, or in recycling bins.  

Our yard debris pickup service is not intended to remove large branches or entire trees.  Residents must retain the services of a private contractor to remove these items from their property.

When is Yard Debris Picked Up?
Yard Debris should be placed curbside in an appropriate container or bag, no later than 6am on pick up day and no earlier than 6pm the evening before pick up. 

American Disposal collects yard debris
April through December only as follows:

Single Family Homes - Wednesdays
Town Homes - Regular Trash/Recycling Pick up days

Holiday Trash & Recycling Schedule
Holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are the only holidays we observe for our trash & recycling collection crews. No services will be provided on these holidays. If your trash, recycling and or yard debris collection falls on these days service will resume on your next regularly scheduled collection day.

Christmas Tree Collection: Christmas trees will be picked up on your scheduled yard debris collection day through the 2nd week in January. Trees put out after the 2nd week can be placed out with regular household trash. Please remove all tinsel and decorations. Do not place trees in plastic bags.

Inclement weather: ADS will cancel collection in areas in which we deem the roads unsafe due to snow or ice. There will be no make up schedule for missed pick ups due to weather. All services will resume on your next regularly scheduled day.
